Production & Sourcing Manager

Overview:

The Production and Sourcing Manager role is responsible for the end to end management of product production, from factory sourcing through quality control and compliance with FUNBOY’s overseas manufacturing partners.  

The Production & Sourcing Manager will oversee execution of finished good production ensuring on-time, high-quality, on budget, and efficient manufacturing. This individual will evaluate current and future needs of the business leveraging strategic partnerships with Funboy’s Co-Manufacturing, Component and Raw Material suppliers for maximized efficiency while ensuring compliance to FUNBOY’s manufacturing code of conduct and international compliance requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Partner with co-manufacturing facilitates overseas on day-to-day production operations.
• Participate in weekly Demand/Supply team meetings.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of all FUNBOY products & components.
• Manage the development and production of multiple products and product lines at once. 
• Ensure production is executed on time, in full and within agreed upon lead time.
• Maintain visibility to supplier lead times and capacity at Co-Manufacturing sites.
• Strategize opportunities for production efficiency and reduced lead times to support continued growth.
• Partner with Co-Manufacturers and Component suppliers to identify and successfully implement cost reduction and/or quality improvement opportunities.
• Create & maintain 3rd party Quality Control requests across all POs + review and organize QC reports by PO.
• Organize + maintain all required production documents & programs (artwork, packing, testing etc.) within the company drive.
• Ensure adherence to Component Specifications, Fill & Assembly Specifications and standards.
• Monitor and implement quality control procedures and work alongside FUNBOY’s 3rd party QC and Compliance teams to support all required adherence to international standards and protocols. 
• Proactively identify and problem solve critical production issues as they arise.
• Regular evening check-ins w/ overseas partners to ensure timely responses to all outstanding production issues.
• Drive towards Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as a part of the Operations Scorecard focusing on the areas of Quality, Service, Cost, Innovation & Reporting.
• Lead Co-Manufacturer Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR).
• Assist in evaluating new production facilities to bring on line.
• Maintain accurate reporting of all outstanding issues.
• Travel to factories overseas (Asia) when needed.

Must-Haves:

• Experience working with overseas/Asian factories.
• Experience working on large-scale projects with major international retailers such as Walmart, Target and Amazon.
• Los Angeles based. 
• Excellent problem-solving ability with a strong sense of urgency.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize and negotiate.
• Highly collaborative, working cross-functionally across multiple disciplines.
• Strong communication skills; written, oral and interpersonal.
• Ability to travel on an as-needed basis.
• Experience as a team player who thrives in fast paced environments.
• Extremely organized.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3-5+ years of experience & demonstrated success in Production/Co-Manufacturing
• Understanding of Product Development lifecycle and Co-Manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
• Experience in overseas production and/or sourcing

• Illustrator & Photoshop basic knowledge
